Usage

Placed directly inside the mixing vessel before starting the magnetic stirrer. The rotating magnets underneath the heating plate cause the stir bar to spin, continuously moving the blend and helping distribute cannabinoids, terpenes and other ingredients evenly. The size and shape of the stir bar should match the vessel and blend viscosity. Larger batches and containers generally require a larger bar.

Advantages

Provides continuous mixing without manual stirring
Mixes directly inside the vessel with no external moving parts
Available in different sizes for different vessels and batch sizes
Less oxygen exposure due to less stirring on the surface

Disadvantages

Can lose magnetic coupling at high speeds or in very viscous blends
Incorrect size or shape can result in poor mixing
Coatings can become scratched or damaged over time

Material suitability

Specification notes

Length and diameter of the stir bar
Shape, such as straight, cylindrical or pivot-ring designs
Contact material, commonly PTFE or glass

Safety notes

Inspect the surface for cracks, chips or exposed metal before use
Increase stirring speed gradually to prevent the bar from jumping or striking the vessel
